Reading Plan | Revival and Restoration

Revival and Restoration

Sometimes we feel “spread thin” or believe we’ve reached the end of our proverbial ropes and we desire revival and restoration. At other times, our desire for revival and restoration is for the greater things the Lord has done before which we don’t now see. Sometimes our desire is for what He has promised He will still do.

The scriptures in this reading plan include verses that can be used as prayers for revival and restoration during these times. The verses remind and show us that the Lord is the One who brings us, personal and corporate, revival and restoration.

Plan

Session 1

Psalms 80:18-19 (NIV):
Then we will not turn away from you; revive us, and we will call on your name. Restore us, LORD God Almighty; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved.

Session 2

Psalms 85:1-7 (NIV):
You, LORD, showed favor to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob. You forgave the iniquity of your people and covered all their sins. You set aside all your wrath and turned from your fierce anger. Restore us again, God our Savior, and put away your displeasure toward us. Will you be angry with us forever? Will you prolong your anger through all generations? Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? Show us your unfailing love, LORD, and grant us your salvation.

Session 3

Psalms 119:25,107,154,156 (AMP):
My earthly life clings to the dust; Revive and refresh me according to Your word.
I am greatly afflicted; Renew and revive me [giving me life], O LORD, according to Your word.
Plead my cause and redeem me; Revive me and give me life according to [the promise of] Your word.
Great are Your tender mercies and steadfast love, O LORD; Revive me and give me life according to Your ordinances.

Session 4

Psalms 138:7 (AMP):
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me.

Session 5

Isaiah 57:15-19 (NIV):
For this is what the high and exalted One says— he who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite. I will not accuse them forever, nor will I always be angry, for then they would faint away because of me— the very people I have created. I was enraged by their sinful greed; I punished them, and hid my face in anger, yet they kept on in their willful ways. I have seen their ways, but I will heal them; I will guide them and restore comfort to Israel’s mourners, creating praise on their lips. Peace, peace, to those far and near,” says the LORD. “And I will heal them.”

Session 6

Hosea 6:1-3 (NIV):
“Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence. Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.”

Session 7

Habakkuk 3:2 (CSB):
LORD, I have heard the report about you; LORD, I stand in awe of your deeds. Revive your work in these years; make it known in these years. In your wrath remember mercy!
